A diseased liver is replaced with a donor's liver or part of it. A special team assesses the need for transplantation and compatibility.
Preparing for the operation
The evaluation is not just a single test. The team considers how severe the disease is, the condition of other organs, and the possibilities for follow-up care after the operation.
Long-term follow-up
After the operation, regular check-ups and blood tests are needed. Medicines are used for a long time to prevent rejection; they must not be stopped on your own.
